Petit passage cette fois-ci vers la jangle pop, ce style qui va se présenter comme en rupture avec la pop plus conventionnelle largement diffusée dans les années 70 et 80. Pour bien finir la saison, retour sur l’un des albums fondateurs du post-punk, dont les sonorités font leur farouche retour depuis quelques années avec le renouveau du genre et sa nouvelle vague. Ici, on décortique donc les origines de Entertainment!, son explosion et impact mais aussi l’effet d’éphémérité dont la carrière du groupe a été emprunte. À l’aube des années 80, Gang Of Four tentera par la suite l’embrasser les nouvelles modes de l’époque, ce qui leur sera manifestement et hélas fatal.

Retour cette semaine sur le deuxième album de Grouper, projet solo de Liz Harris, Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill. Sorti il y a déjà 14 ans, le disque a pourtant su évoluer auprès de ses auditeurs pour peu à peu passer de pépite à quasi-référence, notamment porté par un shoegaze au vent en poupe ces dernières années. Projet solo donc mais entouré par toute une ribambelle d’artistes et acteurs musicaux et admiré par la plupart des afficionados du secteur, encore considéré comme un disque aussi indispensable qu’irremplaçable.
